Festive nuts and spices – Society6 collection
Isn’t it wonderful how you can evoke seasonal warmth with more than just the traditional fireside scene? This array of festive nuts and spices was put together with the mixed nuts that fill the supermarket shelves at this time of year. Christmas comes around and out come the nutcrackers for chestnuts, walnuts, pecans, hazelnuts and brazil nuts. Mixed in with those rich brown shades are aromatic star anise and long sticks of liquorice root.
For a splash of colour from the outside, I sprinkled in a handful of crab apples. The tree outside my office is laden with these red-orange fruits, so beloved by the birds. The bumper crop disappeared quickly last year when we had several inches of snow – unusual for Kent. Suddenly the tree was filled with fieldfares, which had flown in from the farm fields, unable to find their usual supply of food under the snow. They stripped the tree in double-quick time, much to the chagrin of our resident blackbird.
You’ll find tote bags, serving trays, framed prints and more with this Festive Nuts and Spices art among the many designs and curated collections in my Sarah Doow Society6 store. You could make some wonderful Christmas cards for your friends and family with the stationery cards.
